KREFELD-BASAURI 2015-2016 (clone) | Page 19

1st room

People in the photos lived during the 70s or 80s. They were all taken from a spanish newspaper, a special magazine about criminal cases called “El Caso”. The artist was french, he was Christian Boltanski. And he collected all those cases from the magazine.

We don’t know who is who, so that’s the bad side of this work. But the solution could be found reading all the articles that are in the boxes under the photos. Those boxes are very typical in the work of Boltanski. The lamps connect one person to another. Everything is connected with everything and everybody has something to do with somebody and if you change something everything will change.

Last room we visited

This room was characterized because it was completely dark. On the wall we could see an image, when we arrived we thought it was just a picture on the wall, but while we were in the room we realized that the image of the wall was moving and that it was like a slow motion movie.

3rd room

This work is about light. We can see three women of different nacionalities but of the same generation. And the artist wants to show us the different type of women of that times. These ladies are from the 90s.

Opinion

we visited the k21 museum and then we had some free time to visit the city and go shopping. Later our partners arrived and we went to have lunch. We stayed in Dusseldorf all together until it was late and finally we returned home.
