The main treasure of the cathedral is a golden reliquary containing the story of the three kings of Christmas.
These relics and other treasures have made the Cathedral of Cologne a major pilgrimage destination for centuries.
One of the pieces was burned down on April 30, in the year 1248.

First, when we arrived to Germany all of the families were waiting for us, so we went with them to our houses. Before I settled in the house we had dinner all of us together in a restaurant. After this, we went to a party with all of the Spanish students, German students and also with some friends of German girls until 12 o’clock. Finally, we came back to our house and we went to sleep.
The history of this fountain says this:
“Once upon a time, there was a very, very lazy husband, who used to spend all the day drinking beer without doing anything, but his wife always went to see if the work he had to do was done or not, and it was.
His wife begun to wonder how it was possible that the job was made if her husband spent the day doing nothing. So one day, she decided to go down stairs and look if her husband was working, and she let some green peas on the stairs, and when the Heinzelmännchen were going up, they fell down, and angryly told the husband: <We spend the hole day doing your job for free and that is the way you pay?> And after that, they left, and the husband didn’t get more help for his job.”
CARNIVALS
It begins on february 4 and finishes on february 8.

-The "crazy days" of Carnival are celebrated with parties on the streets, in public squares and in pubs. Closing times for pubs and bars are suspended for the duration of the festival.
