good but not blisteringly quick, and on the steepest uphill section with my 93kg aboard, the speed held firm at 28k’s. This electric scooter is enormous fun to ride and the eco component is equally satisfy- ing. For commuting around cities in New Zealand it is a viable choice. As a campus transport it would be without peer; light, easy to ride, and stable on broken ground because of its large diameter wheels. I would think if you lived at the top of a hill in, say, Kelburn in Wellies and commuted daily over the hills and faraway, you may hesitate, but – maybe not. This is a great little commuter, easy to love, and the first choice for every zip to the dairy, wine store and takeaway joint. Pretty much oddity free – but – one thing I found slightly odd... the stand is abnormally high, and could be really difficult for a small person to learn the knack of. It did my head in every time. But even so, zipping about down on the water- front, this is a brilliant choice of transport, will not pollute, won’t dirty your clothes, and is cheaper than chips to run. Hopefully with burgeoning numbers, there will come a reduction to the entry price. Its not extortionate, but it’s not cheap either. Fun, Eco, Cool, Built – that’s worth a bit.     KIWI RIDER 81
