TEAM RIDER: Hayden Smith 2017 NZ 125 MX Champion KTM 125SX BIKE: BIKE MODS Engine: stock with FMF exhaust system Suspension: P1 Moto re-valved: WP AER48 forks and WP rear shock Rear starting clip Odi bars/grips Uni filters Talon wheels JT sprockets DID chain Acerbis plastics CFX seats Pirelli tyres COMMENTS As Pirelli has a large tyre range I was able to run different tyres in different conditions such as a sand tyre at the third round in Manawatu at Flips MX-track. My suspension has been re-valved by Troy at P1 Moto; the standard air forks are really good and I think they suit my riding style more than the 4CS forks on the older model bikes. The CFX gripper seat is awesome in muddy conditions which half the rounds were. The engine was completely stock, other than an FMF pipe and muffler for two of the four rounds. We were running rear Bud Racing hole-shot clips and KTM Power Parts hole-shot clips which helped with my starts over the season, meaning I was able to hole-shot a few motos at the 2017 nationals. We ran a KTM Power Parts larger rear brake cylinder to prevent the brake overheating. I am really grateful to be on the CML KTM team. I’ve been able to ride the most competitive bike in the class and had invaluable support from team owner Karl, team-mate Hamish, Shaun Fogarty and Troy Hamilton. http://bit.ly/2w4PP4K 60KIWI RIDER
