KAWASAKI KX65 RIDER: RIDING TYPE: ENGINE TYPE: CAPACITY: STARTER: GEARBOX: BRAKES: SEAT HEIGHT: WHEELBASE: WEIGHT: PRICE: 7-11yrs, beginner to intermediate Paddock, trail, club days, racing Water-cooled, reed-valve, two-stroke 64cc Kickstart Six-speed, manual Disc front, disc rear 760mm 1120mm 60kg $5195 T he smallest model in the KX line up serves as a great platform for learning the secrets of off-road riding. The 64cc two-stroke engine has a six-speed manual clutch gearbox and the bike offers front and rear disc brakes. A rigid frame is combined with an adjustable front fork and Uni-Trak rear suspension linked to a nitrogen-filled, adjustable rear shock. The KX65 has been around for a long time and proven itself to be very reliable as well as competitive in the 65cc class at mini motocross. If you want to get your son or daughter started in mini motocross with minimal investment you can’t go past a KX65. KIWI RIDER ARCHIVE N ext up was the KX65, this bike had a kick-start, felt comfortable to ride and an easy to use power band. The gears felt smoother to me than on the KLX110. I liked this bike the best, I could throw it into the corners and just ride it out the other side. The brakes are really good stopping and I on this bike I felt myself pushing outside my comfort zone. Landing the jumps felt safe and pulling away on the straights was even better. Yep I could take this one home. Load it up thanks! Both the KLX110s were fun to ride but I’ll take a KX65 over them any day because I like to ride motocross but I think the 110s would be better for trail rides. RHYS BAXTER The KX65 is a really good bike. It would be awesome if you were just getting into racing and you wanted a reliable and quick bike. I liked the KX65 because it was responsive out of corners and when landing from jumps. My bike that I ride is a KX85 small wheel but it’s not much of a difference in power out of corners. The 65 is easy to ride and the clutch is easy to pull in even if you have small hands. If you were eight or nine I would highly recommend the KX65. ASHTON WHYTE     KIWI RIDER 97
