But there are some jewels around here,
you just need to seek them out. If it is
sand you want, head to Flag Beach.
This definitely isn’t a secret spot; it’s the
centre of kitesurfing in Fuerte as it is
situated just out of Corralejo. If you head
South, there are some empty beaches
close by. Sotavento is another place
that’s awesome to kite, I knew they
had a lagoon there but I was shocked
at the size of the place. If you get your
tides right it fills in from either end giving
some great flat water riding, it doesn’t
hang around for long though so if you’re
planning on riding there make sure your
know the tide times and be pumped up
ready to go!
Fuerte is such a great place with
so much to offer, if you can I would
definitely take a surf board too (if you
can fit one in your board bag) as it’s
not always windy the time of year we
went but it’s the perfect time for surf, with
most of the breaks picking up some kind
of swell you’re alw ays going to be in the
water which is the most important thing.
So, if you have time and you’re looking
for a kite holiday where you can discover
your own spots to ride, surf some waves
or ride in lagoons or off sandy beaches,
Fuerte is worth a second glance.
