So I’m sitting at the table looking out the
window at another dark, rainy February
afternoon. Even though I’d rushed
home from work, I missed the tide and
the wind had switched direction.
Lucky I have a plane ticket to
Fuerteventura booked for a weeks’
time, that gives me just enough time to
cram in everything I need to finish off at
work then I’m off for a long weekend.
That’s the beauty of Fuerte; it’s only a
4 hour flight.

I’m heading out with GT from the
mag to try and get some riding time
in. I used to spend the winters there
back in the day before I’d even seen
a kite, I was just surfing. I’ve ridden
most of the breaks there but as a surfer
never noticed the flat water spots in
and around the north track. A quick
glance on google earth reveals a ton
of rideable spots. When you’re there it
looks a little different but still inspiring;
just surf and inlets everywhere.
