They picked a mix of ages (from 10 to
17) and nationalities; one American,
one Brazilian, one Dutch, one Swiss,
one German, one Spanish (living in
Fuerteventura), four French kids, and me
from the UK. Luckily the camp was in the
February half term, so I didn’t miss any

On Friday the 13th of February I flew
to Fuerteventura to meet the rest of the
team. We were all very excited, especially
Javier as it was being held at his home
spot. We were based in Correlejo at
line up. Line-up is a kite, surf, SUP, and
windsurf centre with a joint café. Line-up
is run by Manu Taub and Edith. One night
Manu showed us a video of him speed
kiting in Namibia; he was twice the world
speed record holder. They looked after
us really well, and one day it would be
great to go back and see them. By 5pm
we were on the water at Flag beach.
Each day, we would wake up ready for
breakfast at 8am. Then after breakfast we
would go and do our teeth and get ready
to go to the beach. We would go to the
El Cotillo lagoons for the whole morning,
either Manu would bring the lunch down
or we would go back to Line-up. The food
was great! When we kited at the lagoons
Etienne would get us to ride in heats so
we got heat practice and also so there
was enough space. Then because at the
beginning of the week the tide had gone
out in the lagoon we went to Flag beach
and kited there. Then we came back, had
a shower, and went down to the gym un
