Epic Photography Capturing those epic moments... caught after the loop. We managed to make it through the first round on the event that Wednesday despite the wind not being in our favour. The plan was to continue with the rest of the event the following day, which showed promise for wind. We woke up the next morning with a disappointing email from Sergio, informing us that the winds had changed and that there wouldn’t be enough wind to continue the event. This basically blue balled all of the riders. Everyone was stoked on the previous day and was ready for more on-water action. Unfortunately the no wind spell carried on for two days, and then on Saturday the wind finally came! My game plan for the heats was to try and show a variation of big air tricks. We had seven minute heats and our top three tricks were scored. I figured I would do one board off, one high handlepass and one mega loop. My first heat on the Wednesday was a tough heat with Ruben and Gianni. They had some pretty radical loops which put them through to the next round. In my next heat on the Saturday I felt pretty confident going into it. I was fairly powered on my 11m Best GP. I opened up my heat with a big board off - off of a kicker. I then proceeded to go into a high handlepass…. this didn’t go as planned and I went pretty big and passed the bar but realized shortly after passing the bar I’d passed to the wrong side of the bar. My kite then looped to the opposite side, I held on like hell but hit the water so hard I couldn’t keep it together for the landing, and just exploded. After this I quickly headed to the beach where I had Lewis Crathern another Best team mate waiting on the beach for me with a 9m Best GP. My plan now was to go and chuck a couple mega loops. This turned out to be a bad
