W e regularly get kitesurfing pictures sent to us here at Kitepix but unfortunately we can’t use them all. With so many pictures to choose from we only pick the best! Kitesurfing is one of the hardest subjects to shoot, there are so many variables to get right; being an action sport at a distance and in the sea makes it that little bit trickier. Now I can’t help you with purchasing your next camera or massive lens but I can give you some top tips on getting that perfect kitesurfing picture. Get the sun on your back Some pictures work well with the rider as a silhouette and the sunlight glistening off the water. But to achieve a crisp colourful picture you need the sun on your back and shining straight onto your subject. Get something else in the picture To make an interesting picture try and get the beach or other riders in the shot. This might mean wading out into the sea or standing on a sea wall. But remember not to overcrowd your image or your subject will be lost.
