TNS and P97 partnership enables more secure mobile and connected car
payments
P97 Networks and Transaction Network
Services (TNS) are leading the way
in facilitating secure, efficient, and
reliable connected vehicle and mobile
payments across North America and
Europe. Under the agreement, TNS
provides P97 a managed tokenisation
service enabling the secure
provisioning and payment authorisation
of consumer card-on-file accounts for
mobile and in-vehicle applications.
Since its inception the partnership has
enabled in-dash fuel payments alone
for more than 3 million vehicles across
the United States.
“The Internet of Things is driving
mobile commerce into retail fuel and
cars, allowing merchants, oil and gas
companies and manufacturers to
develop greater consumer loyalty,”
said TNS’ Chief Product Officer, Bill
Versen. “Through our partnership, P97
Networks and TNS provide leading
tokenisation services that protect
sensitive consumer data. P97 also gains
access to a host of processing partners
through the use of TNS’ secure global
managed communications platform.”
The P97 PetroZone platform is
a cloud-based mobile commerce
and digital marketing solution that
connects retail fuel, convenience,
consumer packaged goods, quick-serve
restaurants, and other merchants to
their consumers by enabling payments
and omni-channel digital offers on any
device or connected car. P97 eases the
purchasing process to increase sales,
build greater brand loyalty, and lower
operating costs. PetroZone is PCI DSS
and SOC 2 Type II compliant, utilising
Microsoft Azure Cloud Services with
multi-factor authentication to protect
sensitive cardholder data.
The TNS solution involves token
creation, enabling consumer payment
accounts to be stored on file in return
for tokens, which offer fraudsters
no value if compromised. Once a
token is generated for an account,
all future transactions involving the
same account and mobile device use
tokens rather than actual account
details. The cloud payment, enabled by
P97, uses TNS’ tokenisation platform
to ensure fast and secure payments.
This technology is helping P97 and
TNS continue to enable such things as
in-dash fuel payments at participating
Shell petrol stations across the U.S.
Bleep officially launch new self-service epos kiosk
Bleep UK PLC, the designer, manufacturer and supplier
of innovative point of sale solutions, has announced the
launch of a new, cutting edge Self-Service EPOS kiosk after
several successful trial installations across a number of
high-profile venues.
The new Self-Service kiosk, the Bleep SS-821, has
been developed by Bleeps’ own in-house, UK based team
over the course of the last 2 years, and is designed to
cater for the emerging demand of self-service point of
sale technology while also complementing their existing
portfolio of EPOS and Payment solutions.
Bleep’s SS-821 offers a new experience for customers
processing an order or making a transaction in retail,
hospitality or events environments. The purpose-built
kiosk comes complete with a built-in touch-screen, intuitive
software and high-speed thermal receipt printer – and can
even have an Ingenico card payment device integrated
to create a truly all-in-one solution. All of this is built into
a secure, steel casing which can be branded with any
individual company logos and corporate colours.
The large, vivid touch screen, with its intuitive, user-
friendly interface allows customers to easily navigate
menus, products and screens, quickly select items (for
immediate collection or pre-ordering for half-time or an
interval) then confirming an order and making a payment.
Orders from the kiosk will then be immediately sent
to a preparation area, via a kitchen printer or kitchen
video display where they can then be prepared ready
for collection. The SS-821 kiosk also links to W-BO (Web
Back Office), for live price and product updates and
real-time sales and stock reporting, providing businesses
with precise data and metrics on exactly what has been
ordered, where and when. n
