Therefore God saw fit for a new beginning t to be wrought. beginning because of the displeasure brought before God. Genesis 6 tells the account of how God allowed it to rain for 40 days and 40 nights to destroy every living thing that had breath.

He had ordered Noah to take 7 of the clean animals and 2 of all other types of creatures (male and female) onto the Ark He instructed him to build the ark so that he and his family could have a new beginning.

This new beginning would rid all of the evil on the earth, at least temporarily. This new beginning would allow for a fresh start for humanity. This new beginning would re-establish order on the earth so that they could once again be fruitful and multiply.

This biblical historical account allows us to see the mind and heart of God never seen before . What would we have done if we were God? Would we had put everyone in dire distress until they came to their senses and begin to call on us for help? Would we have given them multiple warnings to STOP THAT!

Would we have taken Noah and put him on a new planet and the let the others live out their final days of destructions? Or, why not just destroy everyone including Noah? Again our thoughts are not God’s thoughts and our ways are not His ways

He ruled a new beginning to take place and that’s how He decided to implement it. Interestingly enough, that new beginning brought forth 2 oaths from God. We read in chapter 8, which by the way the number 8 represents new beginnings, that Noah built an altar to the LORD. So this was after mankind had been destroyed, the waters had receded and the ground was now dry. Noah took of every clean animal and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. Verse 21 informs us, "And the LORD smelled a soothing aroma".

Then the LORD said in His heart:

1) “I will never again curse the ground for man’s sake, although the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth;

2) nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done

The rainbow, according to Gen 9:13 is God’s sign of His covenant.

The waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. The rainbow shall be in the cloud and I will look on it to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.
