Sergeant John O'Reilly 2nd Brigade Ordnance Company Irish Defence Forces visited National Learning Network in Bray to kick off their current series of ‘My Career’ talks. Sgt. O’Reilly spoke about a regular day on duty and what happens when a call comes through about a suspicious device. He outlined the fast and critical decision making process when on the move to the incident, the importance of teamwork and communications within the emergency teams, making safe the device and finally the team debrief.
The students could see the practical application of what they learn about teamwork and communication and found Sgt. O’Reilly’s talk interesting and inspirational! KWETB are linked to the NLN Bray through the valuable provision of funding for four programmes at the centre.
