St. Farnan's celebrates 75 years with Family Fun Day

St. Farnan's Post-Primary School is celebrating its Diamond Anniversary in Education this year, having proudly served the Prosperous community since the doors opened in 1941. 75 years is a very significant milestone and so the management and staff of the school have compiled a varied programme of events to mark this important year in the school's history.

The first of our celebratory events was held in the school on September 25th, when we opened our doors to pupils past and present, their families, and guests from the local community, for a most enjoyable Family Fun Day. A few autumn showers could not dampen the fun and the large crowds who visited the school and its grounds enjoyed live music from the school's Traditional Music Group, bouncy castles, crazy golf, an obstacle course and the many other activities organised especially for our younger visitors.

There was a display of photographs and memorabilia from the early years of the school, and a most informative talk on the school's history was given by Mr. Tom Crehan, Past Principal.
