Ardscoil na Tríonoide, Athy

KWETB, on behalf of the Department of Education and Skills and the school’s Board of Management, continues to act as principal liaison for Architect-led Single Point Design Team Services at Ardscoil na Tríonoide, Rathstewart, Athy, Co. Kildare.

This project will ultimately see the handover of an extension consisting of 4 mainstream classrooms and a 552m² Special Needs Unit. A decision on planning or request for further information is due by 25th February.

Ardscoil Rath Iomgháin, Rathangan

The school was recently approved grant aid for the replacement of prefabricated buildings to consist of 3 permanent classrooms built as a standalone structure.

Athy College

The school has been approved under the Department of Education and Skills six year plan for an extension with construction in 2018. The schedule of accommodation is now awaited from the DES.

Celbridge Community School

Enabling works have commenced on site at Mooretown, Celbridge, Co. Kildare for the provision of a single storey temporary post primary school catering for 350/400 students.

Maynooth Education Campus

A comprehensive tender report for the construction of two 1,000 pupil post primary schools at Moyglare Road, Maynooth, Co. Kildare has been submitted to the Department of Education and Skills for approval. KWETB await sanction to issue a letter of intent to the (apparently) most economically advantageous tenderer.

Naas Community College

Naas CC was devolved from the Department of Education and Skills to KWETB. The Design Team was appointed following an Architectural competition held jointly by the DES and the RIAI. The brief was to develop and adapt the innovations of the competition winning scheme for a 1,000 pupil, three storey Post Primary School to our site at Millennium Park, Naas, Co. Kildare. Principal innovations included: Creation of a welcoming entrance plaza on a ‘civil’ scale, aggregation of social spaces and More visually open approach to student toilet areas as an anti-bullying tactic.

St. Conleth’s Community College, Newbridge

Construction of a 4,602m² standalone extension to the existing 3,072m² building at St. Conleth’s Community College at Station Road, Newbridge, Co. Kildare continues.

St. Farnan’s Post Primary School, Prosperous

The school has been approved under the Department of Education and Skills six year plan for an extension with construction in 2018. The schedule of accommodation is now awaited from the Department of Education and Skills.

St. Joseph’s National School, Templerainey

KWETB, on behalf of the Department of Education and Skills and the school’s Board of Management, continues to act as principal liaison for Architect-led Single Point Design Team Services at St. Joseph’s National School, Templerainey, Co. Wicklow.

Tenders are currently being assessed in order to appoint a contractor for the replacement of existing prefabricated accommodation with a standalone extension to include the following:

9no. 80m² Mainstream Classrooms, 2no. 16m² Resource Rooms, 1no. 70m² Autistic Classroom, 1no. 15m² ensuite toilets/shower attached to Autistic Classroom, 1no. 20m² withdrawal area for Autistic Classes
