The John Lennon bus visits Wicklow!

Music Generation Wicklow availed of the timely visit of the famous John Lennon Bus to Ireland in August to offer a unique opportunity to young Wicklow musicians.

The bus is a state of the art facility sponsored by the Yoko Ono Foundation and a myriad of corporate sponsors which travels through the United States and Europe to bring music and music education to all.

Music Generation Wicklow decided to access young up and coming bands in the county by inviting applications to have a full day free recording session and video on the bus which was sited in Blessington outside the KWETB Further Education Centre on Friday 7th August.

It was wonderful to hear the works of many young Wicklow bands and through panel selection the Arklow band Small

Town Crisis along with three backing singers from the Vault Youth Centre in Arklow were selected.

The band and singers spent the day on the bus recording and had a professional video produced of their song ‘Burning in Fire’ written by 15 year old band member Sean Fox.

Following this they have featured in local press, played live on air and were interviewed on East Coast Radio and Sky Irish TV Channel 191.
