September 2015 4
We will continue our work on the integration of our administration and management services across Wicklow and Kildare Offices and the realisation of the shared services projects in conjunction with the Department Project Management Office. The focus of all our initiatives is to ensure that we deliver the very best services for our students, trainees and staff in line with our Vision Statement and Education Plans.
I ask all teachers, tutors and trainers to plan well for this year and to focus on achieving the very best for each of our students and trainees. We must all strive to carry on the great tradition of excellence that is the backbone of our organisation.
I thank all staff for their continued professional engagement with our students/trainees/management and partners.
I look forward to our continuing working relationship and a successful year ahead for Kildare and Wicklow ETB.
KWETB has processed over 184 appointments since June 2015 to the time of publication of this magazine on September 7. Of this number, 152 appointments were to teaching and tutoring posts, 24 posts to Music Generation Panel and 8 posts were managerial positions. Approximately 40% of the appointments are attributed to year one vacancies under the Ward Report.
Kildare and Wicklow ETB is one of the largest employers in Kildare and Wicklow and is certainly one of the most active in the recruitment market. This is an incredible feat in these stringent times of reduced budgets and capped headcounts. This high volume recruitment is a testament to all employees of KWETB, our student numbers are on the rise directly due to the high quality education service which we together provide.
We particularly wish to announce the following appointments:
Patricia O’ Brien

Louise Kearns

Eric Gaughran
Principal; Colaiste Lorcain, Castledermot
