Local community groups are facilitated and encouraged to use the Crookstown FETC premises to host, promote and develop community initiatives. St John’s Ambulance and the First Responders conduct regular meetings and training courses in the centre. Crookstown scouts have been allocated a number of rooms for their den and scouting activities at Crookstown FETC.

The Crookstown community committee plan to establish a community garden in 2018 and intend to use the FET centre for parish meetings and various community initiatives. KWETB will continue to work in partnership with local committee representatives who act as the voice of the local community, promoting collaboration and teamwork between local community groups and KWETB Further Education and Training (FET) services.
