Kildare and Wicklow ETB Newsletter Issue 10 Learn, Work, Live | Page 3

CHIEF EXECUTIVE'S WELCOME

Welcome to the Spring Edition of the KWETB e-magazine. I have had a preview and it is both inspiring and humbling to read. The theme of the e-magazine is Learn, Work, Live. The service and supports that you the staff, give to students and especially those returning to learning is the inspiration for this. The beauty of the magazine is that it keeps us in touch with each other, creates a community of people within KWETB, keeps us informed and inspired to work harder.

It is powerful to read about how returning to learning with KWETB has completely changed the lives of people living in our communities. This is why we exist. There are multiple examples in the e-magazine, I wish to congratulate all our students who have contributed by writing articles, testimonials and ‘Tales from the Trenches’.

Everyone reading about the activities in our primary and post primary

schools will be overwhelmed with a desire to go back! The talent and innovation of our pupils is second to none. An acknowledgement must go to staff in KWETB schools for giving such opportunities and experiences to our students. You are truly delivering on the KWETB mission statement.

A note of acknowledgement to all staff who work in further education and training for your work here and indeed for your work on compiling our FET Services Plan for this year. I do not underestimate the volume of work involved.

There are many other contributions to the e-magazine worthy of note including our Central Administrative Services, Youth Services, Outdoor Education, Music Generation Wicklow and new FET Training services.

Best wishes to both the new electrical apprenticeships in Naas and career traineeships in Wicklow. I wish every success to the Kildare application for Music Generation funding.

Thank you to all who have contributed to the newsletter, those who have published and edited it for you the readers. It is a lovely production, enjoy reading it and share it out locally.

Wishing you all a very Happy Easter and the very best for Spring/Summer term.
