Toy industry stalwarts highlight how safe toys unlock true value of play

In this continued effort , Spielwarenmesse recently initiated the first panel discussion with industry experts on an important topic in the industry . The CEO of Spielwarenmesse Germany , Mr . Ernst Kick , the CFO , Mr . Jens Pflueger and the Managing Director of Spielwarenmesse India , Ms . Katharina Janotta kick started the journey of panel discussions with the most important issue in our industry i . e . „ Toy Safety “
Stalwarts from the Indian toy and retail industry came together , today , at the Spielwarenmesse Dialogue to reiterate that safe toys - that are mindfully designed and manufactured - are essential to the overall growth and development of children . Hosted in Delhi , Spielwarenmesse Dialogue marked an impactful start towards the fifth edition of Kids India , scheduled to take place from 20-22 September , 2017 . The industry recognized that while rigor in research , manufacturing and testing processes is essential for raising the bar of safe toys , it is also essential to educate consumers , particularly parents , about what is safe by providing the right information .
Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies ( NABCB ). Sarbajeet Mukherjee , General Manager , Consumer Business , UL South Asia and Charan Singh , Vice President and Regional Director- Softlines ( India , Middle East & Africa ), TUV Rheinland joined the panel to provide a perspective on standardized testing and best practices .
Over the years , toy manufacturers have pushed the boundaries of playtime , focusing on designing and launching toys and games that enhance growth and development in children . The discussion laid emphasis on research , processes , quality standards and safety protocols required to create innovative toys to ensure a balanced mix of learning and fun .
An increased need to ensure the availability of safe toys are the emerging demand patterns of consumers . Today ’ s consumer is digitally savvy and discerning , with access to information and products like never before . This raises expectations and public scrutiny on many brands to ensure that products are authentic and safe .
