4 September 2014 It's Budget Time: Getting to the Numbers Development of the 2015 KICA budget is well underway. Finalizing the budget is a five-month process involving KICA management, committees such as Finance (FC), Human Resources (HRC) and Major Repairs (MRC), as well as the Board of Directors. Budget work began in July. As we enter October, the board will be reviewing the draft budget for the first time, with final board approval expected in November. JULY • HRC reviews salary survey and discusses 2015 compensation plans. Want to learn more about the budget process or provide input to the process? AUGUST SEPTEMBER • KICA department directors create 2015 working draft of budget. • MRC reviews 20152017 project plan. • Management reviews working draft of budget and creates first draft. NOVEMBER OCTOBER • Staff conducts the Board Budget Workshop. • Staff presents the final draft of the budget at the November board meeting for approval. • Budget summary posted to website (kica.us) and later included in members' Annual Meeting packets, mailed in January. • FC reviews the first draft of the budget. • Budget workshop group (board chair, vice chair, treasurer, FC chair) and staff meet to review first draft with FC feedback. • FC reviews second draft of budget and provides feedback to COO. • Final draft of budget developed.
