Kiawah fans eagerly awaiting the release of Mary Alice Monroe's new novel, A Lowcountry Wedding, are in for a treat. The New
York Times best-selling author will debut her latest work at the Sandcastle, giving members the first opportunity to speak with
her about the fourth book in her Lowcountry Summer series. Following the book discussion and a Q&A session, there will be
a book sale and signing. Refreshments will be served. To attend, RSVP to the Sandcastle.
Our World Lecture Series
Our World is a complimentary educational lecture series
produced by KICA. A selection of wine and cheese is served.

Pet Helpers: The Old Dogs Club
Thursday, May 12 at 2 p.m. at the Sandcastle
When it comes to pet adoption, older dogs tend to be less popular.
Currently, Pet Helpers is seeking participants in three new
initiatives in the Kiawah/Seabrook communities aimed to help out
their older dogs. To kick off these initiatives,they are holding an

Join the Sea Islands Hunger Awareness Foundation (SIHAF)
in celebrating the Sea Islands Gullah culture with two exciting
events. On Friday, meet and greet artist Mary Whyte and her
Johns Island models, while enjoying heavy hors d’oeuvres.
Then Saturday, come out to Freshfields to enjoy gospel choir
Lowcountry Voices, along with catering by the Tomato Shed
cafe and a silent auction.
