Kiawah Cares Readies for Busy Spring
As spring arrives in the Lowcountry, a lot of things begin to change.
The flowers start to bloom, the warm weather returns, and the days get
longer. One thing that does not change, however, is Kiawah Cares' (KC)
commitment to the Sea Islands.
February was a busy month on the Sea Islands. On. Feb. 8, KC hosted a job
fair that connected people in the community with potential employers and

GIVE - Donate to Protect the Treasured Angel Oak Tree
The Lowcountry Open Land Trust (LOLT) went under contract earlier
this year to purchase the remaining 18 acres surrounding the Angel Oak
(bringing the total to 34 acres). This occurred just prior to a City of
Charleston Council meeting where Mayor Riley and Council unanimously
approved $400,000 for this second and final phase of the project.
LOLT officials are hoping for a strong show of support from our community
during this second and final phase of the project. KC encourages you to
support this worthwhile endeavor that will serve as a perpetual gift to the
community. Donations are being accepted through March 14. To learn
more or make a donation, visit lolt.org.
