NEW YEAR’S DAY 5K (11 A.M. - 12 P.M.) POLAR BEAR PLUNGE (11:45 A.M. - 12:30 P.M.) TUESDAY, JAN. 1 Ring in the New Year with a beach fun run at the Kiawah Island Golf Resort. This fun run will begin at the Sanctuary beach access, running east toward the Ocean Course 1.55 miles, turning around and heading back to the finish line in front of the Sanctuary Hotel. Conservation Matters Tuesday, Jan. 15 | 3 p.m. Join Dr. Richard Porcher at The Sandcastle as he shares the story of how man and nature have shaped the Lowcountry. Over the last 11,000 years, man and nature have worked together to shape today’s Lowcountry, creating a rich and diverse landscape that offers much for the naturalist to behold and enjoy. Come to Conservation Matters and rediscover the Lowcountry landscape with Dr. Richard Porcher - famed local botanist, author, and dynamic speaker.
