Stay tuned for info on this member favorite! EXPLORING OPERA WEDNESDAYS | FEB. 20 - MARCH 27 Exploring Opera will be offered as a sequel to the popular Opera Lite series. Beginning on Wednesday, Feb. 20, and continuing for six weeks, join Shelagh Emmott and other opera enthusiasts at Bobcat Hall in Beachwalker Center at 2 p.m. Each session will include a brief discussion of the history and significance of the work, followed by video highlights of the opera. For each opera, attendees will focus on aspects that can increase enjoyment of the experience. OUR WORLD THURSDAY, FEB. 14 AND FEB. 28 | 3 P.M. Our World is a complimentary educational lecture series produced by KICA that provides members with presentations by local experts on a wide variety of subjects. Feb. 14 - Impacts of Climate Change - Location: Beachwalker Center Kristina Dahl is a climate scientist who designs, executes, and communicates scientific analyses that make climate change more tangible to the general public and policy makers. Dr. Dahl holds a Ph.D. in paleoclimate from the MIT/WHOI Joint Program in Cambridge and Woods Hole, Massachusetts. Feb. 28 - Surgery Options - Location: The Sandcastle Hear from orthopedic surgeon Brodie McKoy on options for preventing and treating joint pain. Dr. McKoy works with East Cooper Medical Center. REMINDER: The Sandcastle will be closed Jan. 29 - Feb. 2 for floor resurfacing. Members will be able to access the beach during this time.
