Kiawah Presents Our World
Thursdays at 3 p.m.
Our World is a complimentary educational lecture series produced by
KICA that provides association members with presentations by local
experts on a wide variety of subjects. A selection of wine and cheese is
served. Reservations due by the Monday prior to the event.
Dec. 5 - Captain Andrew Lennon, chief of staff for Submarine
Reserve Force, "Military Operations in Africa and how they
support National Policy, AQIM, the major terrorist group
causing trouble in Maghreb and more."
Dec. 12 - Al Thibault, former deputy chief of mission in India and
Saudi Arabia, "Afghanistan and Pakistan Revisited."
Jan. 16 - Dr. Nic Butler "George Gershwin's Charleston Education."
Jan. 30 - Stacy Pearsall, photo journalist and historian, "Shooter: A
Photographer's Journey through Combat."
Sandcastle Holiday Tree Lighting and Member Social
Dec. 5 from 5:30 - 8 p.m.
Join your friends and neighbors to kick off the holiday season with a fun
reception featuring live piano music, scrumptious treats, beer and wine.

POPS Holiday Gathering
Dec. 9, 6 p.m. at the River Course
POPS closes 2013 with its annual Holiday Gathering. The evening will
begin with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres followed by a plated dinner and
dessert/coffee stations. There will be a full open bar all evening as well as
musical entertainment for dining and dancing by Ted McKee and The
Sneakers. Invitations have been mailed to all POPS members (guests are
also welcome to attend). If you plan to attend, please RSVP by Dec. 4. If

Travel Presentation Series
Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection - Dec. 11 at 2 p.m.
Please join Uniworld Cruises and AAA Travel to learn more about a unique
way to experience all that Europe and Asia has to offer. Ken Cohen of
Uniworld will discuss the all-inclusive difference, and Bryan Buck of
AAA will share first-hand information about how amazing and beautiful
the ships and locations are. The presentation is complimentary and light

Travel the Magnificent Canadian Rockies - Jan. 8 at 2 p.m.
AAA and the Rocky Mountaineer present an unforgettable travel experience,
capturing the romance of rail travel as it follows historic routes through
breathtaking scenery, including glacier-fed lakes, majestic mountain ranges
and ferocious rivers. All travel packages are fully customizable, allowing
travelers to personalize their vacation with sightseeing and activity options
to fit their interests and budget. Complimentary wine and cheese will be

Dementia Dialogues
Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.
Dementia Dialogues is a five-part learning experience designed to educate
individuals who care for persons who exhibit signs and symptoms associated
with Alzheimer's Disease or related dementia. Dynamic instructor Tauna
Longest brings great depth of knowledge and a bit of wit in addressing a
difficult subject. The program is complimentary. RSVP to the Sandcastle.
