ACTIVITIES REPEATED IN ALL 14 OF THE CHILDREN'S SESSIONS:
1) Climbing up and down the Tree exercise
Aim: A tradition to mark the beginning and ending of every session and to link all the experiences in the group to a shared symbol.
Materials needed: Worksheet
Description: At the beginning of the session, everybody sits down in a circle on the floor. The first part of the story is read out or
recited together, while performing the described motions. The children can decide on specific motions for their group.
Being curled up - stretching and yawning - rubbing your face - climbing down - stretching and shaking the whole body - looking around
and greeting each other.
At the end of every session, the last part of the story is read out or recited together, while the children perform the motions. Everybody
finds his or her own place - wave goodbye - climb up - look around - dream away.
Time: 3 minutes each
Children
Guidelines: Illustrate the story. Invite everybody to join in, but respect their choice if they sometimes decide not to take part.
