KNOWING AND UNDERSTANDING MYSELF AS
A PARENT (PARENTING SKILLS) (PART 2)
OBJECTIVES
The following objectives are set for Session 10:
At the end of the session the women should

be able to identify their child's feelings;

have a general understanding of how to be a loving and nurturing parent;

be able to promote the child's efforts to become self-reliant and independent,
-
have a general knowledge of communication skills.

PREPARATION
Prepare for the discussion. Take yourself mentally through the type of questions
that can be raised and reflect on how to facilitate the group, so that the core
concepts can be addressed.

The following will be needed for this session:

Paper and pen to take the register and for notes on the session

Flip chart and stand

Pre-prepared flip chart

Buttons with painted faces on (different emotions)

Wool
-
Balloons for ice-breaker
