Safety in the home

Ask the group if they have any questions about safety in the home.

In the group, discuss safety in the home.

Discuss safety and risk situations in the household (bleeding/touching/dishes/ washing).
Unsafe behaviour: injections, toothbrushes, razors, bleeding.
Non-transmission: tears, sweat, sneezing, coughing, using bed linen, cutlery, glasses, sharing a toilet, kissing.
Relationships
Discuss relationship with their children. Divide the group into smaller groups, if necessary. Discuss issues they face with their children
in various age groups:
- What are their concerns about their babies/toddlers?
- What are their concerns about school-going children?
- What are their concerns about teenagers and their sexuality?

1 x flip-chart paper
Koki pen
Instructions:
Fold a flip-chart paper in half. Write the following on the one half
of the flip-chart paper:
1) Gay man
2) Priest
3) Teacher
4) Millionaire
5) Medical doctor
6) Prostitute
7) Mother (with baby at home)
8) Person with drug addiction
9) Man with depression
10) Gambler
On the other half of the flip-chart paper, write the following
descriptions next to each of the professions listed above:
1) Paramedic
2) Molests younger boys
3) Drinks too much
4) Stole pensioners' money from pension fund
5) Sells drugs
6) Teacher in the day time with 3 children to take care of
7) Physically abuses child
8) Counsellor for drugs at a drug centre
9) Expert on wildlife
10) Gives Bible courses
