ICE-BREAKER
Binding with wool
Materials needed: A ball of wool
Activity
The goal of this exercise is to bind the group together and to help them to disclose and to see that they are not alone.
Participants stand in a circle. The facilitator holds the wool and throws it to a person in the group asking a question such
as, "What do you like?" The person answers the question and asks, "Who else likes that?" and throws the wool to that
person. The questions can get more intense, such as, "How do you feel today?" and, "What makes you happy?" and, "What
makes you sad?" Keep throwing the wool until the whole group is tied up. Ask members of the group how they are tied
to each other. Ask the group what they have learnt from this exercise.
