SESSION 12: SURVIVAL SKILLS 'LOOK AND LEARN'
OBJECTIVES
The following objectives are set for Session 12:
At the end of the session the children should be able to
-
identify and discuss the primary tasks that need to be completed in the home environment;
-
identify who takes responsibility for each different task;
-
identify reasons why the tasks are important: "What would happen if no one did this
(e.g., washed socks, cooked food)?"
-
establish the link that doing the tasks shows love and support within the family - everyone
participates and works together;
-
show how they learn how to complete tasks? Who teaches you?; and
-
demonstrate in small groups how to complete household chores (e.g., "I wash socks like
this" in a demonstration).

PREPARATION

and reflect on how to facilitate the group so that the core concepts can be addressed.

terms of children's emotions and needs.
