Faces of KISD : Destiny Green , Indian Springs Middle School Teacher

2005 Fossil Ridge High School graduate ,

A Destiny ( Montemayor ) Green has seen her educational career come full circle . This school year , she made her way home to Keller ISD to teach eighth-grade English Language Arts under one of her own high school mentors – Indian Springs Middle School Principal Sandy Troudt . Troudt coached Green in volleyball at FRHS , and describes her as one of the most positive , driven-to-succeed high school athletes she had the opportunity to work with in her career .

Green grew up attending Keller ISD schools – Whitley Road Elementary , Chisholm Trail Intermediate , Fossil Hill Middle , Hillwood Middle , and finally Fossil Ridge High – and through all the growth in the District , she says she loves the sense of community that has continued .
“ No matter if they ’ ve been here one year or 40 years , it ’ s the faces in Keller ISD that bring back the memories for me ,” Green said .
When Green interviewed for the job at Indian Springs , it was Troudt ’ s face that brought back the feeling of the confidence she instilled in
Green as an athlete back at Fossil Ridge .
“ Destiny ’ s natural strength was impressive , but it was in the off-season , as our teams prepared for the upcoming sports , where her work ethic , dedication and desire really shined ,” Troudt said . “ She was willing to do all the hard , repetitive , detailed-oriented , and somewhat boring work to become the best she could be for her team .”
Following high school , Green attended the University of Louisiana at Monroe on a track and field scholarship where she competed in shotput , discus , hammer throw , and weight throw events during both outdoor and indoor meets . She earned her bachelor ’ s degree in Mass Communications with a minor in Spanish from ULM and later went on to receive her Master of Education from the University of Texas at Arlington .
After receiving her bachelor ’ s degree , she landed an internship in sales at FOX 26 in Houston but discovered her a passion for teaching at her church . She decided to leave the news industry and went on to spend some
