Undergraduate Prospectus 2017 | Geography and Geology
Geography
and Geology
Geography and Geology are about the Earth and
the people who live on it. We deal with topics
ranging from the physical structure of the planet
to the organisational structures of human activity.
Whether you are interested in global environmental
change, cultural dynamics, or natural hazards and
resources, our courses offer you the opportunity to
explore the aspects of Geography and Geology that
most appeal to you.
We offer a flexible mix of Dual Honours and Single Honours programmes
in Geology, Geoscience, Geography, Human Geography and Physical
Geography. You can even combine Geology with one of the Geography
programmes in a focused Dual Honours combination, or study
Geoscience, or Geology with Physical Geography, over four years
for an integrated masters degree.
Our Geography programmes focus on the relationships between people
and the environment (Geography), on global environmental change
(Physical Geography) and on social inequality (Human Geography).
Geology and Geoscience examine connections between geological
processes and materials.
Our research-led teaching, highly ranked in the National Student Survey,
will help you to develop subject-specific skills for career areas such as
environmental management, resource development or local planning.
Our training in observation, data analysis, fieldwork and communication
will give you a good grounding for a wide range of other career paths.
Geography and Geology at Keele are special: students here are part
of our family.
