Environmental Studies
Key Information
Why study this course?
You’ll learn to explore the crucial relationship between humans
and the environment, drawing on the humanities and social sciences.
Environmental Studies differs from our Environmental Science
programme because it focuses on the socio-political nature of
environmental problems and the responses to them from individuals,
businesses, institutions and civil organisations. You could consider
subjects such as sustainable development, environmental policy making,
ethical codes of practice and environmental activism. And you might
do this from perspectives as varied as history, sociology, economics,
ethics, human geography, politics, international relations and philosophy.
This course is ideal if you’re interested in the way the environment is
debated from a broad spectrum of positions.
