Undergraduate Prospectus 2017 | Business and Management
Human Resource Management
Key Information
Why study this course?
This programme at Keele offers a superb insight into the multi-faceted
relationship between the worker and the organisation.
You’ll learn about formal and informal ways of regulating the
employment relationship in the public, private and voluntary sectors,
including legislation and industrial relations. You’ll explore how
organisations function as part of their wider context, how they’re
managed, and how they plan their future needs. While developing
effective skills in listening, negotiating and persuasion, you’ll become
adept at problem solving and decision making. You’ll explore and apply
theories about the nature, management and experience of employment
in its local and global contexts. Since you’ll combine your studies with
another subject, your choice might include business management,
psychology, sociology, economics, politics or history.
