Get stu ck in
It’s really important to balance all your hard work with different
kinds of activities, and it’s all great experience. There are loads of
opportunities to work part-time, join a society (or start one up!),
get sporty, be a student ambassador, organise an event, join our
radio station, represent or support your fellow students, or try a
new activity. Why not get involved with our Sustainable student
bungalow – a community which reduces waste, uses less energy
and grows its own food.
Learn a language
Why not learn a language alongside your degree? Whether
you’re an absolute beginner or can already make yourself
understood without shouting, you could take modules in Arabic,
French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Russian
or Spanish. You could do a single semester or continue over
two or three years, and there are summer language and culture
courses at our partner universities abroad, from Europe to Russia
and Japan. You could even have your language named in your
degree title: “With competency in (Language)”.
