Teaching and assessment
Teaching is by a combination of lectures, classes, and supervised
individual and group work. Throughout the course, we pay attention
to the development of skills that you will need after graduating.
This includes the development of communication and presentational
skills in classes, while you develop the ability to work as part of a
team through group work.
Skills and careers
As well as providing an intellectually stimulating course of study, the
Business Management programme will equip students with leading
edge skills and knowledge that will be of practical use in your future
careers. The skills you will learn with us are broad and not limited
to these specialist areas. You might want to consider starting your
own business after developing a great idea as part of our third year
module New Business Plan.
Our Business Management dual honours graduates have an
impressive employment record. First destination figures indicate
that, on average, over 90% of our graduates are either in
appropriate employment or engaged in relevant further studies
within six months of completing their degree. Former graduates
have gone onto careers as management consultants, IT consultants,
logistics managers, investment analysts, chartered management
accountants, sales executives, bankers and operational researchers.
Good to know
In the National Student Survey results for our
Business Management and Marketing Dual Honours
combination, 91% of students agreed that they
were satisfied overall with their experience, and
over 80% agreed that staff were good at explaining
things and made the subject interesting.
