UNDERGRADUATE PROSPECTUS 2016
Campus
life
Life on campus…
Our campus is self-contained, with student and staff
residences, all teaching buildings (except for some
health courses) the library, restaurants and cafés,
the Students’ Union, shops, a bank, a sports
centre and a health centre.
The community spirit is what makes life at Keele
special. The student population is relatively small by
UK standards and as you make your way across
campus you’re sure to bump into people you know,
so leave plenty of time to get to lectures!
Shopping
As well as three campus shops, we have a newsagent,
the Students’ Union Shop, Blackwell’s Book store and
Santander bank. There are also daily traders, both
outside and on the ground floor of the union, selling
DVDs, CDs, books, posters and make-up. On Tuesday
there is a Farmers’ Market so you can pickup fresh
local produce.
Nursery
Nursery
The university has a purpose built nursery, registered
with Staffordshire Social Services and Ofsted.

Places of worship
The interdenominational University Chapel provides
a focus for Christian worship in a variety of styles
and traditions. There is also an Islamic Centre
with facilities for Muslim worship and Jewish
kosher rooms. The chaplains will be happy to give
information about provision in the local area for
other faiths.
Library services
There are two libraries one on campus and the other
at the Royal Stoke University Hospital. Both have
free Wi-Fi and offer a choice of silent or group study
spaces. The campus library is open 24/7 during
semesters. Although both libraries are available
to all students, the Health library at the Royal
Stoke University Hospital mainly supports Nursing,
Midwifery and Medical students.
