Sport and play
The University Sports Centre has excellent indoor
and outdoor facilities. Whether it’s day-to-day
health and fitness activities or competitive sport,
we cater for all students and all abilities.
Facilities include:
• 2 full size multipurpose sports halls
• Dance studio
• Gymnasium
• 6 squash courts
• Spinning room
• 50 station fitness centre
• Bouldering wall
• Strength and
conditioning room
• Full sized Astroturf pitch
• 9 football pitches
• 2 rugby pitches
• 2 cricket squares
• Lacrosse pitch
There are over 25 fitness classes taking place at
lunchtimes and evenings throughout the week.
Athletic Union
The KeeleSU Athletic Union runs 36 different
sports clubs with 68 teams. As a member of British
University & Colleges Sport we compete against
other universities every Wednesday, and at the
weekend against local opposition. The Athletic
Union clubs also cater for those who wish to take
part in sport simply for fun and those who wish to
try new sports.
Elite Athlete Programme
Students competing at the highest level in their
sport have the opportunity to join our Elite Athlete
Programme while studying at Keele. The programme
offers access to training facilities, assistance from
a qualified strength and conditioning coach,
physiotherapy and more.
Play4fun
Our Play4Fun programme offers all students the
chance to enjoy sport in a friendly, non-competitive
environment. It’s all about being active and trying
out new things, whatever your ability. We believe
in providing a fun, relaxed atmosphere at our
sessions, so whether you’ve tried sport before or
not, we guarantee you’ll enjoy getting involved!
