Skills and careers
A recent review of legal education identified the importance of
students developing strong social and commercial awareness,
alongside an understanding of ethics and values in law.
Through our module design, modules such as Law and Ethics
and Law in Action, and our close relationships with our vibrant
and active alumni community, we ensure our students have
the opportunity to meet leading members of the legal profession
and strengthen their understanding of a rapidly changing
legal services sector. For further information please see

Keele Law School founded the pioneering Community Legal
Outreach Collaboration Keele (CLOCK) scheme. CLOCK is an
innovative partnership between Keele University, law firms,
courts and other organisations and enables our students to
provide assistance to litigants in the court as ‘Community Legal
Companions’. This is high quality and sustained legal work
experience and helps our students to make a real difference to
the community. It has secured high profile recognition and visits
from the Ministry of Justice, the Legal Services Board, the Civil
Justice Council and the Law Society. If you participate in the
CLOCK programme you will graduate with an Employability
Achievement Award alongside your degree.
Recent graduates have secured training contracts at firms including
Berwin Leighton Paisner, Bond Dickinson, DLA Piper Pinsent
Masons and Shoosmiths. The relationships with these lawyers
and other firms are an important part of the student experience
at Keele Law School. Our alumni’s commitment to Keele sets
these opportunities apart from more typical student/professional
interactions. Other recent graduates have used their law degree
as an important foundation for careers in teaching, recruitment
consultancy and accountancy.
