Overview This MSc is designed to prepare psychology graduates for the next stage of their career in applied areas of psychology. Our graduates go on to take up positions in the workplace, register for professional psychology training (e.g. educational psychology) or a PhD in psychology. The course provides taught content and research training in a range of areas in child development, building on areas of staff research expertise. Strengths include: bullying in schools; loneliness, trust and written emotional expression in adolescents; social influences on learning, including feedback, collaboration and subject choice; and the role of the family in supporting education and development across the lifespan. PSYCHOLOGY Child Development MSc Mode of study Entry requirements This course is open to graduates with a first or upper second-class degree (2.1 or above) in Psychology (or a cognate discipline with some psychology study) or an overseas equivalent. Individuals without such qualifications but with other relevant experience should contact the course director to discuss whether they would benefit from the course. International students are very welcome. We require IELTS 7.0. Contact email [email protected] Additional information The course is assessed through written coursework, unseen examination, verbal presentation of research, and independent research written up as a dissertation. Psychology is one of the longest established academic disciplines at Keele University, having appointed our first Professor over 50 years ago. There are currently approximately 20 full-time academic staff in the School of Psychology all of whom are actively involved in a wide range of research across a diverse range of psychology specialisms.
