Overview
Our MSc in Accounting and
Financial Management is
designed for those who
want to challenge complex
organisational structures and
dynamic decision making in the
global accounting and financial
management environment. It will
give you an understanding of
complex accounting information
and is designed to be an
interdisciplinary programme
enabling you to appreciate the
power of accounting in a variety
of contexts using examples from
current practice and theory.
The programme is taught from
a global context with particular
emphasis on managerial
behaviour, institutions and
society at large.
Additional information
Successful completion of the
programme will provide you with
a range of skills including:
• The ability to pose appropriate
questions, to understand
company financial performance
and to challenge decisions
• The application of information
appraising skills to complex
business based case studies by
selecting relevant information
from different sources, and the
examination and analysis of
marketing and financial data
• An understanding of the
theories of entrepreneurship
with reference to finance,
management and marketing
and how to apply these in real
world contexts
In addition, you will gain
experience of designing
and analysing performance
management systems using the
Bloomberg Professional Services

Platform, with the opportunity to
use these skills in recognising key
performance management issues
in a current business scenario.
This MSc is an ideal grounding
for those wishing to follow a
career in accounting and financial
management or to follow a PhD
course in one of the accounting
related subjects covered in the
programme. It also provides a
sound overview of accounting
and finance required for a range
of management careers.
