The Faculty of Natural Sciences Graduate School
provides a multidisciplinary environment to support
research and enterprise in the Environmental
Sciences, Physical Sciences, Computer Science,
Mathematics, Psychology and Life Sciences at
Keele University.
• Cancer Studies
There are over 120 postgraduate researchers in
the Graduate School, with research projects across
a spectrum of science from fire ecology through
medicinal chemistry, applied mathematics and stellar
astrophysics to the identification of genes associated
with cancer and other diseases.
• Diagnostic Science
The faculty actively seeks to promote interdisciplinary
research synergies and collaboration, both internally
and externally, fostering cross and interdisciplinary
co-operation across all of Keele’s scientific disciplines.
Our staff will provide you with expert research
training and supervision, while our dedicated support
team in the Graduate School provides support and
information to both staff and students at all stages
of the research degree, while leading recruitment
and fulfilling the progress monitoring requirements
of the university.

Research Excellence Framework:
The Faculty of Natural Sciences
performed particularly well during
REF2014, with excellent contributions
across nine subject areas. Overall,
the faculty was judged to have
world-leading and internationally
important research in all areas, with
several world-leading impact case
studies. As a result of this excellent
performance, total quality related
research funding in the faculty
increased by 34% compared to
the previous year.
