The movie (loosely) follows the comic.
Duck from out of space… CHECK.
Quack Fu…. CHECK…..
Leading Lady.. CHECK…..
Plot…… ahhh… Problem.
Starring Lea Thompson, Jeffrey Jones, Tim Robbins and Chip Zien as the voice of Howard.
This was a Lucas Film production and after watching the film and reading the comics, I realised that they didn't really have too much in common.
Besides Howard, the only character borrowed from the Marvel Comics universe was Beverly, though in this version she was a rock singer. In the film, Howard is brought to Cleveland by a laser experiment gone wrong, which additionally summoned an evil alien: The Dark Overlords of the Universe, who intended to sacrifice all human life in order to free the others of its kind from their celestial prison.
Apart from Howard & Beverley there really isn't much more that relates to the comics..
