CHRISTMAS IN England
People in England celebrate Christmas at 25th December.
Traditionally they decorate the Christmas tree. On Christmas Eve children leave their socks for the gifts from Santa
Clause. A lot of people go to church to the midnight mass.
On Christmas children visit neighbours and sing Christmas
carols. They usually get gifts for it. On Christmas they have
a family lunch with turkey, plumpudding, traditional beverage… There are crackers on the table, too.

FILM REVIEW
TWILIGHT
Twilight is a romantic fantasy film. It was directed
by Catherine Hardwicke. It is based on a book with the same
name written by Stephenie Meyer. I haven’t read the book
yet, so I don’t know if the screenplay is different from the
original story. I suppose it is.
The story takes place in Forks, a small city with not
many people. It is the wettest place in the USA. The film
tells of the adventures of Isabella Swan called Bella. She
moves to her dad’s house and meets Edward Cullen who is
very mysterious. She falls in love with him and later finds
out that he is a vampire. He can read people’s minds. His
foster sister Alice has visions about what is going to happen. Her visions are based on what people decide. Kirsten
Stewart takes the role of Isabella Swan. Robert Pattinson is
brilliant in the role of Edward Cullen. Taylor Lautner takes
the role of Jacob Black who is not very important in the first
film.
The film is very enjoyable to watch and gripping.
It has superb direction, excellent actors, spectacular action
scenes and first-class computer animation. I would recommend it to anyone who likes vampire and love stories.

SHOCK OF MY LIFE
I was on Christmas holidays in New York with my family. We
brought our cat Fishy, too. We booked a room in a hotel. It was
late and we were tired. I went to bed and tried to sleep when I
heard some strange noise in the living room. It was just my cat
Fishy. It started to rain heavily.
It was midnight when I saw my brother trying to open the door
nervously. I asked him if something happenned. He was trying
to stay calm but he couldn’t. He tipped his finger to the window.
While I was looking outside my father came in and said the hotel
was flooded. I was shocked. The water was everywhere. It was
about 45 centimetres high. We were looking for Fishy when I saw
him drawning in the living room. I didn’t know what to do. My
father pulled him out but the water level was rising. The first floor
was already full of water. We couldn’t go downstairs. Luckily,
a policeman came in through the window. He was talking to my
father. I couldn’t hear them. My father told me we were saved.
