I first learned about diabetes while working at the CLSC as a home care provider in Puvirnituq. I had been teaching patients how to use the glucometer, an instrument that measures the amount of sugar in your blood. I used the glucometer on myself to train the people I was caring for. That’s when I found out, sunauvva, it so happened that I was to care for my own diabetic problem for the rest of my life. The glucometer showed that I had a high sugar level in my blood.
