relaxing in fright
she tenses her neck and screams
at the friend turned foe
in the lumbering limelight
stormy seas clouding her dreams
we collide on thoughts
of streams surging through her blood
(abandoned and drained
she fears they will stop pumping
into seams) the life she craves
kicking off hot sheets
i walk alone down her beach
Wanting to taste salt
(to forget her completely)
but now she runs in my veins
