6-Do you have a SL photographer who inspires you?

Yes! WrenNoir Cerise!! I met Wren when I did some photography work for a SL fashion magazine, SL Fierce, who took a chance on me as I was not an established Second Life photographer. Wren is hysterically funny and always makes time for me when I have questions about photography, styling or just want to pester her. Sometimes a conversation will spark a story fest that would have us in stiches. I absolutely adore Wren’s giving nature and commend her and Nariko Okawa for sharing their vast knowledge – which, sadly, is something most established photographers keep to themselves... and the photos she takes are to die for! She can take a single fashion item or a simple scene and make such an impact! I want to be a mini-Wren!

7- You have just started studying at Visionaire Institute, could you tell us a little about your experience so far: the curriculum, instructors and assignments?

When Wren and Nariko first started Visionaire, I knew it was a course I wanted to attend but scheduling did not come together until this semester. I told Wren I thought I knew a lot about SL photography (mainly through trial and error and trying to replicate my real

life experience in photography in Second Life) but three classes in, I am discovering aspects of in-World photography I never knew about. Like learning to frame a photo in Second Life and not depending on Photoshop to “fix” a photo. Homework assignments are fun and challenging but the one of the many things I found is that I am taking fewer photos when completing an assignment. Where I used to take 40+ shots to get one good photo, I am now happily and successfully taking less than 10… a vast improvement in my opinion. I absolutely love the feedback and critiques from the instructors, fellow students and past graduates who come back to "audit" the classes, as there is no “wrong” when taking a photo... it is a learning experience. Wren and Nariko are two of the most wonderful and giving individuals who make the classes fun and informative – always a good combo.
