My first memory of you Kalpi is in Vidyalankar when I was eight years old. Niru and I stayed there with you when we were on holiday from boarding school in Kodaikanal. You were so conscientious and I can still see you sitting upstairs with your nose buried in your books! I remember thinking that I would like to be so determined and committed (donít think I have ever achieved it!). Our lives have crossed so many times with huge gaps in between but I have always cherished the time I have spent with you in England over the last thirty years. You are a very special person. Your gentle nature, kind disposi- tion, patience and truly caring attitude are traits to be admired. You are a remarkable person and I am proud to be your cousin! I hope that we manage to spend more time together as my children grow older and perhaps we can put special creative projects together jointly! Canít believe you are going to be sixty! Happy Birthday.
