Kal 60 Bday - Page 14

Hi Kalpana Aunty Happy 60th Birthday! I just wanted to say a few words on this special day. As we live on the other side of the world, I rarely got a chance to spend time with you or to know you as well as Iíd like to. However I was fortunate enough to stay with you a few years ago. Thanks for welcoming me and treating me like your own son. During this time you taught me a lot about life and independence. Basic things like nutrition, cleanliness and responsibilities. Things my mother probably could and would have taught me but I would have been too stubborn to listen. These lessons really helped me when I came back to Australia to live by myself, probably the reason I can live independently now. Iím eternally grateful for these lessons and hope to learn more in future. This might sound a little unnecessary but I thank you for being such a good friend to my mother. I know the sibling bond is meant to be natural but I know enough people, who rarely talk to their siblings to know that it isnít a given. From what mum has mentioned and I have overheard, you are one of her best friends, someone who she can confide in and ask for ad- vice, Iím grateful that she has someone like you in her life. I do hope my sister and I will have a similar relationship in the future, but Iím pretty sure it will be me asking her for advice ha! ha! Anyways Aunty, as you know Iím not one for many words, so I will leave it there. Have a great day and we will be thinking of you!!! Siddarth
